Every month at Little Picassos we gather children and families to explore one emotion at a time — not to fix it, not to suppress it, but to understand it. To name it. To make something out of it. And to leave knowing that whatever they felt when they walked in was never something to be ashamed of. This is emotional literacy through art. And it changes things.How it works: Each session centers on one primary emotion from the E3 — Empower Through Emotion Education — framework. A featured local Kansas City artist joins us each month to guide children through a hands-on creative experience built around that emotion. The art is the vehicle. The feeling is the lesson.Children explore where the emotion lives in their body, what it might be trying to tell them, and how it can show up in big ways or small ways or surprising ways they did not expect. As well as the emotions that can come alongside other emotions because we hardly ever feel just one thing. Together we feel, explore, and learn.This month — HAPPINESSWho is this for: Children of all ages are welcome. Caregivers stay and participate — this is a community experience, not a drop-off program.
