It is expected to open in 2029 and will help ease pressure on emergency rooms and local jails while providing better care closer to home.

Nearly $300 million in state funding was approved to help make the project possible. Attendees will hear short updates from:

“It is vital that the community is heard and has a seat at the table in the development of this mental health facility,” stated Thomas, D-Kansas City. “This hospital is a real opportunity to improve mental health care in our area. I want Northeast Kansas City neighbors to come share their thoughts and help shape the project.”
