- **Event Description**: An exciting community event to celebrate the stories of HawaiʻiAbout this EventOn Saturday, October 24, 2026, Windward Mall will be the blank canvas for an exciting fundraiser for Koʻolau ʻĀina Aloha (KAA) and Paepae o He’eia. This free community event will include live storytelling, a high school fabrication competition, and family mask-decorating activities. In the highschool art competition, haumāna and kūpuna teams will create their portrayal of mo‘olelo ~ memorable legends - of Hawai‘i Island.During the competition, families will enjoy a fun activity of painting and decorating masks. Mask-making kits will be sold and distributed at Windward Mall on the day of the event. Entertainment, family activities, and educational booths promoting mālama ‘aina are also planned for the day.While listening to live story-telling from 10 AM to 3 PM, families can participate in two fun hands-on activities at the event: paper-mache mask making and block printing. Mask kits will be available for pre-purchase starting September 16, 2026. $15 kit includes one paper-mache mask, a box of 10 Classic Colored Markers, and a reserved table. Guests are encouraged to bring additional supplies (feathers, rhinestones, paint, etc.) to embellish their mask. All block printing will be paid on site, just bring your item(s) to be printed (tshirt. pareu, malo, kihei, hand towels, etc and we got the rest!Limited supply of mask kits available, so make your reservations early.
