John Wing is a comedy veteran in the truest sense of the word. Originally from Sarnia, Ontario, John has been making audiences laugh for over four decades, earning his place as one of Canada’s most accomplished and widely respected stand-up comedians.
With more than 350 television appearances across Canada and the United States, John’s résumé reads like a comedy hall of fame. He’s performed on The Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, appeared on Evening at the Improv, Comics, and Stand-Up Sitdown Comedy with Robert Klein, and starred in two hour-long CBC television specials: John Wing: Fly Me and John Wing: The Elvis Years.
A true festival favourite, John has performed at over 40 comedy festivals worldwide, including an impressive ten appearances at Just For Laughs Montreal. In 2013, John expanded his international profile as a semifinalist on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
Whether headlining comedy clubs, entertaining on cruise ships, or touring internationally, John has taken his sharp, intelligent humour around the globe. Beyond the stage, he’s an accomplished author with eleven published books of poetry, a memoir chronicling his first ten years in stand-up, and his debut novel, A Car to Die For, released in 2021.
John Wing currently lives in Los Angeles, where he continues to perform, write, and proudly—if meticulously—maintain his Canadian citizenship.
