From Iowa & Back - The Vietnam Era is proud to partner with the Kalona Historical Village to host film showing and filmmaker Q&A for their Semi-Quincentennial Celebration honoring the 250th anniversary of the USA 🇺🇸 We are asking for a $5 free-will donation at admission to the event

The Kalona Historical Village is a tribute to local heritage with 12 historic buildings, 4 museums, and exhibits like the Quilt and Textile Museums.

"From Iowa and Back - The Vietnam Era" represents years of community engagement, collaboration, and storytelling. The film offers a deeply personal exploration of the lives of ordinary Iowans who grew up in the 1950s and 60s, left the idyllic landscapes of small-town America, and faced the realities of wartime in foreign lands and at home. Through Glazier’s lens, the film chronicles these veterans’ journeys, from the turbulence of war to the challenges of reintegration upon returning home. It provides a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by a generation whose narratives have often been overshadowed by history.

Through Brucemore’s Artisan Studio program, a team consisting of production managers, writers, editors, colorists, sound editors, and composers has been gathered to work hand-in-hand with the filmmaker to achieve his creative vision for the project. Brucemore is proud to be part of the telling of this story of everyday Iowans who sacrificed some of their youth to serve their country.
