- **Event Description**: Join us in celebrating One Book Montana, an initiative by Humanities Montana, with a free community lecture by Chris La Tray, Métis storyteller and 11th Montana Poet Laureate. La Tray will share insights from his award-winning new book, “Becoming Little Shell: A Landless Indian’s Journey Home.”

La Tray is a descendant of the Pembina Band of the mighty Red River of the North and a citizen of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He writes the newsletter “An Irritable Métis” and lives near Frenchtown, Montana. His work has received numerous honors, including the Montana Book Award and recognition from People and Esquire magazines.
