Join us for our 2025/26 season of our Poets in Print Reading Series! There will be five readings, four in person in the KBAC gallery and one online through zoom.
Our May reading will be held in person and feature Emily Daniel and Traci Brimhall. Letterpress printed broadsides will be available for sale as well as a limited edition chapbook "A Brief History of Falling" by Traci Brimhall with images by Toru Sugita
Traci Brimhall is a professor of creative writing at Kansas State University. She is the author of five collections of poetry, including Love Prodigal (Copper Canyon, 2024). Her poems have appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, The Nation, Orion, The New Republic, Poetry, The New York Times Magazine, and Best American Poetry. She’s received fellowships from National Endowment for the Arts, the National Park Service, the Academy of American Poets, and Purdue Library’s Special Collections to study the lost poem drafts of Amelia Earhart. She’s the currently the poet-in-residence at the Guggenheim museum and poet laureate for the State of Kansas.
Emily R. Daniel’s chapbook, Life Line, was selected as a winner of the 2020 Celery City Chapbook Prize. Her poems can be found in The Penn Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Waxwing, Porter House Review, Stirring, and forthcoming in The Massachusetts Review, among others. Emily lives with her family in Kalamazoo, MI where she recently graduated with an MFA in Poetry from Western Michigan University and served as Poetry Editor for Third Coast Magazine.
