Getting Started & Understanding the Workings of your Digital Camera

This workshop is ideal for beginners who have just bought a Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera or those looking to start with the basics to have a strong grounding in photography. It introduces you to the concept of digital photography and a basic understanding of your camera. Participants learn the basic digital camera terminology and operation of the camera.

Hands on instructions and practical sessions are critical at every step of this workshop.

Hobbyists and beginners wanting to learn and have a direction in their photography will find this 7 hours workshop most useful.

Pre-requisite: A working camera body with a lens (any focal length) is required.

Instructors: ALEX MOH was an independent photographer, curator, critic, researcher and project coordinator for numerous photography projects at national and international arena since 1997. He was a co-founding member of Silver Gelatin Fine Art Photography Galley & Teaching Centre (2000 to 2003).
He co-wrote ‘History & Beyond, Malaysian Photography from 1900 to the Present Day (2004)’ and ‘The Loke Legacy: The Private Collection of Loke Wan Tho (2005)’ both published by National Art Gallery Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. He managed the Nikon Centre (NEH) KL, Nikon Club Malaysia and the Nikon School from 2009 till 2019.

He is now attached to Futuromic Photo AV and is heading the tutoring and community workshops for all photography enthusiasts.

C T HONG (SCOTT) was attached to Nikon Centre (NEH) KL for the past 8 years and was one of the course instructors for the basic workshop and technical support team. He is now attached to Futuromic to Photo AV and is among the teaching advisory staff.
