This 1st of 3 courses takes participants from bare ground — a paddock or a lawn — to a planted, living garden over two days. Presentations are interspersed with practical demonstrations and hands-on work, with participants preparing the first crop of the year the planting of garlic. The yearly course of 3 dates follow a natural arc: from prepare the whenua and understand the Maramataka to plant, nurture, harvesting and learn to save, clean and store your own seed.

What participants need to bring – Limited amount of tools 4 Sale

•      Raincoat (this is an outdoor course in Northland — it runs rain or shine)

•      Gardening tools: spade, fork, hand-tools, small trowel.  

•      1 x Seed Tray and 5L Daltons Seed Raising mix, if you wish to take home your planted seeds.
