The day will include kōrero on kaimahi wellbeing, addiction, intervention pathways, supervision, and how culture can shape clinical practice.This is also an opportunity to connect with other kaimahi, strengthen community networks, and build collective resilience.This is a space to learn, reflect, and connect with others doing this important mahi.Spaces are limited, registrations are open until all tickets are gone.Programme Overview:This wānanga brings together cultural and clinical perspectives to support kaimahi working with whānau impacted by addiction.Hosted by Te Whare Awhina o Ngāti Tautahi, they will share knowledge from te ao Māori as the tūāpapa to strengthen practice when supporting whānau. The wānanga will also include opportunities for whanaungatanga, networking, and kaimahi wellbeing, rongoā and mirimiri available throughout the day.Cory James (Ratana Pā, Te Aupōuri) Clinical Lead, at Tuhiata Mahiora, will present on addiction and pathways for recovery, sharing both cultural and clinical AOD perspectives, along with insights into clinical supervision and support available to kaimahi.Jacquii Hessell (Tuhoe, Whakatohea, Te Rarawa) Clinical Team Manager at Te Whatu Ora, will present the Ngā Tikanga Piringa Model of Care. A culturally responsive addiction model developed for Te Tai Tokerau.
