TOPIC: Plums, Peaches and Nectarines
SPEAKER: Steven Murray
Steven, of the Murray Farms family in the Central Valley, has traveled the world, and in the past has educated us and entertained us with tales of his travels and experiences finding exotic fruits, as well as from his vast knowledge growing cherries and other fruits in California.
Meeting starts at 7pm, but gate and doors open at 6:30 pm (or even earlier) if you'd like to come a little early for social visiting or go visit the orchard.
We also live stream the meetings. If you would like the zoom link, message us here.
The general public as well as CRFG members from all chapters are invited to come to our meeting (though we hope we'll talk you into joining us - we do have a lot of fun, and learn a lot about growing fruit).
MEETING LOCATION: In the classroom at Jurupa Mtns. Discovery Center. Enter the gates (they will be half open) and park in the first paved parking lot on the left. Meeting is in the classroom on the north side of that parking lot.
Parking is free.
TASTING/SHARING TABLE: The Fruit Fly quarantine is cancelled, yay! So no restrictions on bringing fruit (except the usual ones on citrus due to HLB – just make sure there are no leaves or stems on the citrus, bring only the fruit).
Non-members (and expired members) will have an opportunity to become a member (or renew). For the minimum level, try to bring exactly $41 in cash or bring a check - minimum level to join national is $29 which includes 6 electronic magazines to the Fruit Gardener, plus chapter dues are $12. To get the gorgeous hard-copy color magazines mailed to you it is $39 plus $12 chapter dues, totaling $51. Other memberships (i.e. multi-year or lifetime) available, price varies.
