Get ready for a full day of exploration at one of Texas’s most underrated gems - South Llano River State Park! We’ll tackle a moderate 10-mile route that rolls through scenic hills, oak-juniper woodlands, and wide-open vistas. Expect steady elevation changes, great conversation, and plenty of opportunities to soak in the park’s natural beauty.
We’ll keep the vibe fun, adventurous, and inclusive - perfect for hikers who want a solid challenge without feeling rushed. After the hike, we’ll head into town and nab some pizza at Pizza Junction, and everyone is welcome to stick around for an optional campout back at the park. Because this park is an official International Dark Sky Park, and there will be a new moon, the night sky here is truly something special. If the weather cooperates, we’ll wrap up the day under a canopy of stars bright enough to stop you in your tracks.
Whether you join just for the hike or stay for the night, this is the perfect way to spend the weekend with adventure, community, and unforgettable scenery.
