- **Event Name**: Strong Starts & Graceful Aging: Fitness for Dogs at Both Ends of the Spectrum
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 15 Mar, 2026 at 09:00 am – Sun, 15 Mar, 2026 at 06:00 pm
- **Event Description**: This workshop is designed specifically for two special populations, growing puppies and aging senior dogs, providing each with safe, appropriate, and effective fitness work in a shared learning environment. While their needs differ, both groups benefit enormously from thoughtful conditioning that builds confidence, improves mobility, and supports lifelong soundness. Participants will learn how to work with their dog’s individual abilities while also understanding the unique considerations that come with developing bodies and aging joints.

Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and hands-on coaching, you’ll explore low-impact strength training, balance and stability work, posture awareness, and movement patterns tailored to each stage of life. Puppy teams will focus on building foundational coordination and confidence without stressing growing tissues, while senior teams will practice gentle mobility work and strengthening strategies that support comfort, stability, and independence.

This workshop is perfect for active family pets, future sport puppies, retired sport dogs, and any canine who will benefit from age-appropriate conditioning.

Participants will learn how to:

Apply safe fitness guidelines for both puppies and senior dogs.

Support posture, balance, and body awareness in different life stages.

Modify exercises based on age, ability, comfort, and mobility.

Build confidence and proper movement patterns in puppies.

Improve range of motion, comfort, and stability in senior dogs.

Incorporate warm-ups, cool-downs, and recovery strategies.

Create simple at-home fitness routines tailored to each dog.

By the end of the workshop, each team will leave with customized exercises that meet their dog where they are, helping puppies start strong and seniors stay active, mobile, and engaged.
