Historically, this village served as the summer retreat for Roman emperors from Baalbeck. • Niha is known for its citadels, some dating back to the Roman Empire, with origins tracing to Byzantine and Phoenician eras. These citadels, while smaller than Baalbeck's, are historically significant. Pre-Hike Visit: • Visit local villagers’ homes in Niha to discover homemade organic products: kishk, pickles, syrups, and vinegar. • Opportunity to support local communities by purchasing these products. Hike Details: • Start from Niha and visit the well-preserved lower temple. Two Levels: • Level 6 (Challenging): o Uphill trail to the cross atop the cliff with breathtaking views of the Bekaa Valley. o Descend towards Ferzol. • Level 4 (Moderate): o Short uphill walk to the upper temple (well-preserved). o Descend to Ferzol. Ferzol Exploration: • Visit Al-Habis to see ancient ruins and caves, remnants of a prehistoric empire, rumored to house gold treasures. • Explore the king's chair, wine presses, and other Canaanite, Phoenician, and Roman artifacts.
