Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers, Join us this Sunday for a colorful and exciting trail from Baskinta to Zaarour (LMT section 15)
Section 15 from the Lebanese Mountain Trail (LMT) begins in Baskinta, “Chakroub Area”, and ends in Zaarour by the artificial Lake. Our hike will start in Ech Chakhroûb - Baskinta, from there we will take dirt roads and narrow footpaths crossing Wadi El Dilb and leading us to the Manboukh area. Then we will start our ascent towards Zaarour using dirt roads and a narrow footpath by a cliff. On our way, we will pass by the Roman Temples of Tal Jouz, where we will have our lunch break before heading towards the Artificial lake in Zarrour to end our hike. The hike will be between hills and valleys with charming scenery, as we will pass by many streams and impressive rocky formations, visit some historical locations, and pass by the artificial lake in Zaarour.

• Level: Moderate Plus
• Hiking duration: 5 Hours
• Distance: 13 km
• Altitude Range: 1267m – 1508m
• Meeting: 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot. (We can pick up the hikers who live on our way)
• Departure: 7:30am (SHARP).
• Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
• Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 4:00 pm
To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
• Hiking shoes (waterproof)
• Buff/ Beanie / Warm headwear / Warm gloves
• Lightweight windproof /waterproof jackets
• Healthy snacks (sandwiches, energy bars, dried fruits, nuts…).Water (2 liters)
• Backpack / Hiking sticks
• ID & personal insurance cards.
Contribution: 20 USD or equivalent market rate in LBP to include: LOA guides, transportation, but does not cover medical insurance.
