- **Event Description**: In 1982, The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund dedicated the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.  The VVMF has a traveling version of the memorial called The Wall That Heals and Copper Mountain College is hoping to host the wall and its traveling educational center, in 2027.  Sandy Smith of the CMC Foundation and Steve Brown, Public Relations, are working with our Veterans Resources department and an array of community organizations, to bring the Wall to CMC for a weeklong commemoration of our Vietnam veterans.  
 
The first step in the application process is to assemble a committee to plan and oversee the visit.  The committee will be hosting its first meeting on Monday, June 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Library Meeting Room in the Greenleaf Library.  Applications to host the Wall are due by August 31.  

While this is a significant undertaking, we believe it will provide a meaningful educational and commemorative opportunity for our veteran community as well as our communities as a whole.  We welcome your thoughts and participation.  This is very much a community effort, and a positive one for all.
