Pysanky Eggs with Carolyn Trout

Discover the beauty and symbolism of pysanky, the traditional Ukrainian art of egg decorating. In this hands-on class, students will learn the wax-resist and dyeing process used to create intricate patterns and layered designs.

Carolyn, a Master Pysanky Artist, will guide participants step by step through applying wax, building color through multiple dye baths, and revealing the final design.

What to expect:
Learn the history and meaning behind pysanky designs
Practice wax-resist techniques using traditional tools
Create and take home your own decorated pysanky egg

All materials provided
No prior experience is necessary. This class is ideal for teens and adults interested in cultural art traditions, detailed design, and mindful, process-driven making.
