For over 40 years, members have organized the camp in partnership with the Department of Social Services. Many campers say it’s the highlight of their summer and can’t wait to return! But that’s not all—there’s S’MORE! Soroptimist International of Joplin also helps local women and girls gain the education and training they need for economic empowerment through two key programs: Live Your Dream Awards – Education grants for women who are the primary financial support for their families. Awards can be used for tuition, books, childcare, transportation, and other expenses that support their educational goals. Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls – A mentorship program that equips girls with the tools, confidence, and guidance to reach their education and career dreams—helping them break cycles of poverty, violence, and abuse.
