About Dr. Leslie
Dr. H. Steve Leslie is a dynamic educator, communicator, and leader whose career spans higher education, banking, financial systems, sales management, and instructional technology. A Jamaican native with a deep commitment to personal and professional excellence, he has spent nearly two decades shaping student success at Arkansas State University, where he teaches Business and Managerial Communication in the Neil Griffin College of Business. Known for his energetic teaching style and ability to make complex concepts practical and engaging, Dr. Leslie has built a reputation as a mentor, strategist, and champion for effective, authentic communication in every setting.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Leslie’s influence runs wide. He previously served as Interim Director of the A-State Faculty Center, leading major initiatives in faculty development, instructional innovation, and technology-enhanced learning while expanding the Center’s funding and resources. His background includes managing multimillion-dollar financial portfolios, directing large sales teams, coaching high-performing professionals, and presenting research at national and international conferences. With advanced degrees in communication, business, information systems, and educational leadership, Dr. Leslie brings a rare combination of real-world experience and academic expertise to every room, helping people communicate with purpose, lead with clarity, and rise to their fullest potential.
