JAM presents Howard Fishman and the Biting Fish Brass Band

The 2025 Johnstown Midsummer Concert Series continues with Howard Fishman and the Biting Fish Brass Band!

A high-energy, contagiously exuberant five piece New Orleans-style brass band, the BITING FISH is Howard Fishman’s tribute to the Big Easy, his former home. The band performs originals mixed with a classic brass band repertoire of spirituals, blues, gospel and funk. Featuring tuba, trombone, trumpet and drums and vocals, this project is featured on the Howard Fishman recording "BETTER GET RIGHT."

Zorbas Trio will open the show. Based in the Saratoga area, siblings Callista, Demetra, and John Zorbas write and perform original music as well as a a range of jazz, rock, alternative, and classical.

The Johnstown Midsummer Concert Series is free to attend and open to all, thanks to financial support from the City of Johnstown and many local donors. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

In the event of rain, the show will take place inside St. John’s Episcopal Church, adjacent to the park.
