The Moon Unit

The Moon Unit is a guitar trio from Durham, North Carolina that plays jazz, funk and progressive rock with intense improvisation. Being best friends since a very young age, these three musicians have a deep history of exploring music together. The Moon Unit pulls influences from traditional music to modern funk and pop. Their goal is to give every listener a deep and emotional understanding of their own being. Drummer Kurt Stracener appeared with bass star Felix Pastorius at our 2023 festival.
