- **Event Description**: Make a scrappy quilt top in a day with no-fuss piecing.  Learn how to use a rotary cutter with a ruler and a cutting mat to make a lap size quilt top, with no intricate piecing or measurements.
This workshop is for people with basic machine sewing skills to make a quilt top, not a finished quilt.
WHAT TO BRING
Sewing machine in good working order
**A limited number of sewing machines will be available for class use**
Thread, at least 2 bobbins already wound
Scissors, seam ripper
3 yards total of all cotton 44” wide fabric (standard bolt width) washed and dried, in various colors and patterns to be added to the “spaghetti bowl”.
 
Bring a bag lunch, snacks, and drinks.
 
DATE and TIME and PLACE
The workshop will be held on Friday August 8, starting at 9 am to approximately 3:30 pm. The length of the day will depend on students’ progress. There will be a break for lunch. Class will be held in the Art Studio at The Divine Acres Farm in Baker’s Mills, NY.
 
COST
The cost for the class is $75 per student. The class is limited to 8 students. To register for the class, contact Rhodella with The Divine Acres Art Studio text 914-494-2266
 
The workshop starts with learning how to use a rotary cutter (a round razor blade) on a self-healing mat with clear acrylic rulers to cut your fabric into strips that are added to the “spaghetti bowl” of everyone’s strips. Then strips are chosen at random to begin sewing the quilt top.
You will be provided with tips for finishing the quilt, but this class is for the TOP ONLY.
