NL: Voorlezen is belangrijk voor kinderen én ouders.
Kinderen krijgen nieuwe woorden te horen, waardoor ze beter in taal worden. Maar voorlezen gaat ook om het samen zijn, om de klanken, het verhaal.
Prentenboeken in de thuistaal, helpen ouders en kinderen om op een speelse manier de taal te ondekken en scheppen
mogelijkheden om de thuistaal te versterken zodat die verder reikt dan de dagelijkse contexten
Zaterdag 22.11.2025 organiseren we in de Bibliotheek van Jette, in samenwerking met vzw Foyer een interactieve workshop voor ouders van jonge kinderen (0-3 jaar) over het belang van voorlezen en vertellen in de eigen thuistaal.
Een babyhoekje is voorzien in de bibliotheek.

crée des opportunités pour renforcer la langue maternelle afin qu'elle s'étende au-delà des contextes quotidiens.
Le samedi 22.11.2025, à la bibliothèque de Jette, en collaboration avec l'asbl Foyer, nous organiserons un atelier interactif pour les parents de jeunes enfants (0-3 ans) sur l'importance de lire à haute voix et de raconter des histoires dans leur propre langue.
Un coin bébé sera aménagé dans la bibliothèque.

ENG: Reading aloud is important for both children and parents.
Children hear new words, which helps them master the language. But reading aloud is also about , being together, the sounds and the story.
Mother tongue picture books help parents and children discover language in a playful way and creates opportunities to strengthen the mother tongue so that it extends beyond everyday contexts.
On Saturday 22.11.2025, at the Jette library, in cooperation with the non-profit organisation Foyer, we will organise an interactive workshop for parents of young children (0-3 years) on the importance of reading aloud and telling stories in their own language.
There will also be a baby corner in the library.
