Exact location TBD.Historian, Museum of JC History board member, and community advocate, Jerome Choice hosts an enriching, emotional and personal journey, highlighting the Black history and his life-long experiences in the Lafayette Neighborhood. Our tour will begin at the Liberty State Park Light Rail Station. This is a walking tour, be sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothingSACRED SPACES on JERSEY CITY"S BLACK HERITAGE TRAIL - Bus Tour1:00pm near Lafayette and Van Horne Street. Exact location TBD.Preservation advocate and founder of the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy, John Gomez takes us on a journey to sacred Black spaces in Jersey City, including the Bergen Avenue church where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave one of his final public speeches, and the Ocean Avenue landmark founded as New Jersey’s first Black Catholic parish. We will go inside several of these spaces where representatives will dive deeper into their history.At the end of this bus tour attendees will have the option to join our Support Black Businesses Social at Lady G's Restaurant Bar & Grill.Thank you to our partners, Jersey City Anti-violence Coalition, Councilman Frank 'Educational" Gilmore, Gotta Go Gaming S.T.E.A.M. and ESports Education HUB and the Museum of Jersey City History.See you there!
