(5 min. walk)Freedy Johnstonis a singer-songwriter, originally from Kansas. In the 1980’s, he landed a deal with Bar None Records in Hoboken. His 2nd record for them in 1992 was his breakthrough album “Can You Fly”. He then signed to Elektra Records, and in 1994 worked with producer Butch Vig on the record “This Perfect World,” which featured the radio hit “Bad Reputation,” and earned him Rolling Stones’s Songwriter of the Year award for 1994. His songs were featured in the movies “Kingpin,” “Kicking and Screaming”, and “Heavy.” His most recent album, “On the Road to You,” was released in 2022 on 40 Below Records. He lives in New Jersey. tinyurl.com/FJyoutubeKaryn Kuhl first received national acclaim for her early bands Gut Bank and Sexpod, growing out of the vibrant Hoboken music scene and the legendary club Maxwell's. Over the past 20 years she has released 10 LP’s,EP’s and singles and performs both as a solo act and leading the Karyn Kuhl Band. Currently at work on a new album, Kuhl released two songs on Dromedary Records No Traces/The Tower in April 2024 ( “Here we find her delivering a strong pair of songs that make one hopeful for an LP. The a-side is a solid confessional rocker while the flip is a darker cinematic trip.
