- **Event Description**: Please join us in welcoming artist Chinny Bond to Canopy Jersey City Arts District for a very special reception April 5.  Debuting exciting new works on paper and canvas the artist will be in attendance to share his process and insights into the work.

Colombian born, Amsterdam based artist Chinny Bond, has been expanding his academic fine art practice alongside his experience in street art and mural painting since 2001.

Chinny began producing and developing a new body of work in 2016. He started then to focus on the production and study of abstract imagery related to the analysis and application of mathematical notions and concepts of natural science. His inspiration comes from various sources such as pattern development, Moiré effect, static motion and pythagorean triples. These influences continue to produce largely black and white works on canvas displaying clean lines including an appearance of specific rigidity combined with visual mathematical flow.

After years of developing this approach, Chinny decided to break his earlier formula and began an almost polar opposite abstract body of work based on letting go of the control of the line and image production. Through distancing himself from his original process and literally drawing with his head; he continued to expand this more detached approach by letting ink and water produce their own shades and shapes thus creating what he considers to be 'Studies of Chaos’. 
 
Chinny Bond’s exciting first solo exhibition is on display at The Canopy Hotel in New Jersey where he showcases these new techniques and concepts. Broadening the tools and testing these chaos studies, whilst exploring new mediums, furthered the culmination of his experimental process. The results yielded three varied and vibrant series of combined drawings and paintings which are presented. 

What can be taken from this series is the mathematical order within organic shapes and the chaos that connects the smallest structures in the universe to the largest. Atoms, molecules and cells create forms which are directly comparable to that of planets, galaxies and the cosmos. This visual study of chaos speaks of the connection between all things we perceive in the universe through the chaos of all that surrounds us.
