About the event

The Science of Fall and Necessity of Change

Join a park ranger on this 2-mile guided hike to kick off Valles Caldera Fall Fiesta! The hike will take visitors from the Jemez River Trailhead to the Missing Cabin to begin the program. As we walk, we will stop, listen, and watch for elk and make other observations about changes in the environment during fall. From preparations for hibernation to the beautiful displays of fall colors, Valles Caldera is the best place to be this time of year!

Meet at the Jemez River Trailhead, located approximately half a mile down Valles Caldera's entrance road. Watch for the trailhead sign on the left!
