Walter Dasheno is retired from serving 13 terms as Governor for his Pueblo of Santa Clara. He additionally served his Community and People in various other elected and appointed positions until his retirement at the end of 2012.

He was married to Judy Ann (Tsosie) Dasheno for 46 years and they had 4 children plus 10 beautiful Grandchildren. Today, Walter is a mentor to his Grandchildren and to the many young people of Santa Clara and other Native Communities.
