The performance will feature local favorites, the Wagoner Family and Calvary Reflections. The gospel singing tradition in the Appalachian Mountains is a deeply rooted cultural expression that blends heartfelt spirituality with rich musical heritage. Appalachian gospel music is characterized by powerful vocal harmonies, shape-note singing, and a strong sense of community. This time-honored tradition survives in Ashe County today, and it is the Museum of Ashe County History's goal to share some of these traditional ballads with the public.
