- **Event Description**: Mark your calendars and get your tickets for the 2nd Battle for Jefferson Civil War Re-enactment at Cypress River Ranch on Sunday, May 4th, 2025 at 1:30pm! 

The sounds of battle will be heard up and down Big Cypress Bayou that winds through Jefferson – booming artillery with pyrotechnic ground bursts, cavalry and infantry all play a part in the "enacted" full-scale battle.

Will the Federal troops maintain their momentum from the Louisiana portion of the Red River Campaign and capture the important supply depot of Jefferson or will Confederate reinforcements arrive in time to route the invaders?

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to listen to a closed-circuit radio broadcast of the battle as it unfolds, complete with information about this fictitious aspect of the Red River Campaign, military strategies employed and even the uniforms and weaponry worn and used by the combatants. Additionally, guests will be able to text questions to the broadcasters and have them answered over the air. 

Admission is $20 per person (children 12 and under are free.) SmartBug radio rental, $5.00. Free parking. 

Know Before You Go:

Battles are located on a working cattle ranch, so please respect the property and stay within designated parking and spectator viewing areas. Please place any trash in trash barrels located on-site.

Attendees should plan on bringing lawn chairs or picnic blankets for seating. Sunscreen or umbrellas are recommended for anyone with UV ray sensitivity.  

Port a Jons and water will be available at event. 

Shuttles will be available between parking area and viewing area for those with mobility issues

Re-enactments are LOUD so ear plugs are recommended for young children and infants or anyone with noise sensitivities. 

Pets and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. 

Food vendors are not available at event site, but attendees are encouraged to dine at one of Jefferson's many restaurants after the event.
