The event will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at McClung indoor pavilion and select outdoor Jefferson City locations, where artists from near and far are invited to Jefferson City to draw and paint scenic locations throughout the community and compete for cash prizes. A reception will follow the event where art may be viewed and purchased. 

*What is Plein Air? *
En plein air is a French expression meaning “in the open air” and refers to the act of painting outdoors with the artist’s subject in full view. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.

 Basically, High School Sketch Day but for everyone!

• Painting will be in the time: 6:00am – 4:00pm
• Reception: 5:30pm-7:00pm

Registration Deadline: September 17, 2026 (can register day-of/cash only)
