- **Event Description**: Dear Lebanese Outdoor Adventurers (LOA), join us this Sunday for a snowshoeing trail from Laqlouq to Akoura Frozen Lakes.

HIKE DESCRIPTION: Located in the Jbeil district, Laqlouq is unique because of its raw and beautiful nature. It is also a major spot for ski lovers. Gleaming! This is the meaning of the name Laqlouq, the gleam of the year-round snows! 

The snowshoeing will start at 1770 meters above sea level in the village. We will take a snow path up to the highest point of the trail at “Saydet al Arn” at 2030 meters above sea level from which we will experience a breathtaking view overlooking the frozen lakes and surrounding mountains. After a short lunch break, we will head back towards the village, snowshoeing an amazing path between the frozen lakes. 
•	Date: Sunday, January 11, 2026 
•	Level: Moderate 
•	Hiking duration: 4 Hours
•	Distance: 8 km
•	Slope Variation: 1770m-2030m
•	Meeting: at 7:00 am, Jal-el-Dib, behind DHL, at the parking lot. (We can pick up the hikers on our way)
•	Departure: 7:30 am (SHARP).
•	Breakfast stop on our way (15 minutes).
•	Estimated time of arrival back in Beirut: 4:00 pm

To be prepared for this hike, you will need:
•	Waterproof hiking boots.
•	Buff/ Beanie / Warm headwear / Warm gloves
•	Lightweight windproof /waterproof jackets and pants.
•	Sunglasses, sunscreen.
•	1.5 liters of water, and healthy snacks.
•	ID & personal insurance cards.

Contribution: 20 USD (including transportation, and guidance, but does not include medical insurance) Extra fees: 10 USD (for raquettes rentals & hiking sticks)
