Calling all restaurants, caterers, and amateur chefs!
Compete in Jasper’s first SOUP BEAN FESTIVAL for PRIZES…
Specifics:
When: November 8, 2025 12-5
Where: The alley on Stegall and Mark Whitfield St. (between Pendley Creek Brewing and LC Tacos)
What for competitors: This is similar to a chili cook-off, but substitute soup beans instead. Competitors will pay $50 to enter the competition (max 10 competitors). You will be tasked to make at least 4 gallons of your soup bean creation for sampling. Bowls and spoons will be provided to you, as well as tickets to sample other’s beans. Power is not guaranteed, so propane burners, generators, or sternos are recommended. (If we secure a generator, we will let you know). You will have a 10 X 10 space for your set up and must provide your own tent and table…and of course beans! You may bring supplements to your beans such as cornbread and onions, but it is not required. However, it may tip the odds in your favor! We are hoping for a turnout of at least 150 people to sample the beans. There will be a people’s choice prize and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place from our judges!
What for vendors: There is a $50 fee to set up a 10 X 10 vendor booth. Space is limited, and vendors will be selected based on the theme of folk art, soup bean accoutrement, and veteran specific wares.
What for festival goers: There is a fee to receive 10 tickets to sample the different creations of the competitors. $10 in advance and $15 day of. You will also receive a ticket to vote for your favorite. There is no fee to shop vendors or enjoy the music and atmosphere.
What for Sponsors: Be a sponsor for as low as $100! Set up, market yourself, or even be a competitor!
