We can't believe it (despite the snow on the ground...) but Christmas is quickly approaching which means Operation Christmas Child is in full swing! We're doing things a little differently this year though, so here's some notes but don't hesitate to call if you have any questions!
If you don't know about Operation Christmas Child, all the details can be found linked in the disscussion. It's a long time ministry of Samaritan's purse, working to give Christmas gifts and share the Gospel with kids in need around the world.
Historically, our church has ordered shoe boxes and provided them for you to fill, but we've discovered that technically we don't need to do that. You can fill any old shoebox you've got with gifts and that will be sufficient! And if you don't have a shoebox available to you, I'm told you can get a small plastic box about the same size from Dollar General for $1.50.
What needs to go in the shoebox? Well, all of the instructions for putting together a shoebox can be found on their website. So what we need from you is to
1) Get a shoebox
2) Decide what age/gender you're filling for
3) Fill the box with gifts
4) Turn it into The Community Fellowship anytime before November 23 at noon
5) Tell us what age/gender the box is for.
6) Let us do the rest!
Again, if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being a part of this ministry as we seek to be a blessing to our neighbors all around the world!
God Bless,
Pastor Ben
