"It Came from the North is honouring the beauty of the Nordic nature through photography, whether in traditional landscape imagery or abstract formats. Offering an insight into the unique bond the Nordic populations have with nature, it explains why the latter holds such a special place in society and how it is incorporated into modern life. Moreover, it seeks to remind us of the value of nature, not only on an individual level, but also in relation to our collective identity. Some of the artists are mainly known as landscape photographers, while others have a more multi-thematic approach to their artistic practice. What all have in common is their appreciation and love of nature, which this exhibition is attempting to convey."
