Yes!! thats "1st Queer Gulabi Pride 2015"
Jaipur announces QUEER GULABI PRIDE, 2016 to be held on 3rd April, 2016, Sunday at Jaipur. For the secound year in a row, we reclaim the streets of the city with the hues of the rainbow and walk down celebrating the diversities of our genders and sexuality.
Even though the LGBTQI movement has gained a lot of momentum in the last few years, there have been a few setbacks.
Its good that today transgender person can able to recognition and central and state provide them the well recognization as their level best, but still now in india Homosexual activities between two adults is been treated as a criminal activity under section 377.
Also, living in a time where our thoughts and expressions are constantly being censored and our attempts at dissent suppressed, Pride becomes all the more important.
This year in the Pride, we protest against the laws, like Section 377. We also challenge the oppressive, patriarchal norms which dictate who we should love, how we should love, how we should dress and how we should live.Through this pride we celebrate the love, the relationships, the bodies and identities which fall outside the narrow and rigid definitions of "normal". We celebrate the idea that love needs no policing, and that love will not bow down to any policing. We assert our right to our bodies, to our relationships - both sexual and emotional. We march to protest against all forms of discrimination that lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender and queer people face in our country. We also walk in solidarity and join our voices with everyone else around the country who are fighting against various forms of intolerance, oppression, censorship and moral policing and violence sponsored by state actors.
We invite everyone to join in the QUEER QULABI PRIDE and walk with us- for equality, for freedom.
The Pride is supported by voluntary donations, and we would be
grateful for all the help we receive in this regard.
