We are looking for Police Officer Trainees (no experience necessary). Trainees would attend BLET in July of 2026. While training, candidates receive full salary and benefits. After completion of BLET and receipt of your Basic Law Enforcement Certification from the State of NC, you will be promoted to the rank of Police Officer I. If you are interested, join us at our Hiring Event Saturday, March 7 at the Center for Public Safety (200 Marine Blvd.). starting at 8 AM.
In order to attend, you must first fill out an application at jacksonvillenc.gov/jobs.
From there, you will be able to choose a morning, mid-day, or afternoon slot to attend.
What to expect: Prepare to be on site approximately 4.5 hours: You will be learning what it is like to work at the Department, taking the TABE Test, (Test of Adult Basic Education), and participating in the POPAT (Police Officer's Physical Abilities Test).
How to Prepare:

✅Show up in fitness clothing (athletic shoes, shorts/pants, and a t-shirt)
