Demo Description:

In this 2-hour live demo by Teresa, you’ll explore the freedom and unpredictability of watercolor on Yupo paper using a 5x7 format. We’ll begin with a loose, sketcher-style box as a guide, not a boundary, giving you permission to let the painting move beyond the lines and evolve naturally.

You’ll watch my process of painting loosely on Yupo while learning when to pause, wait, and let the surface dry intentionally. We’ll talk through timing, water control, pigment movement, and how slowing down on a fast, non-absorbent surface can completely change your results. This demo is about trusting the process, embracing imperfections, and allowing the painting to surprise you.

This is a demonstration-focused experience designed to help you see watercolor differently, especially if you’re curious about working looser, experimenting with Yupo, or scaling ideas down into small but expressive works.

If you choose to, you'll be able to paint-along with Teresa.

Supplies: 

Yupo paper 5” x 7” which will be supplied by JWS, round brushes(not ones that hold alot of water), your own paints and water container.

The meeting will be held in the Egret Room, at Cypress Village, 4600 Middleton Park Cir E, on Tuesday, March 24th from 6-8 PM.  Refreshments available. Open to the public.
