I’m excited to launch the ‘Sippsi Book Club — a space for honest conversations around lived experiences in the South and how culture, relationships, gender, power, and belonging show up in our everyday lives.
The books are chosen intentionally — to spark curiosity, reflection, unease and a little tension- the kind that leads to deeper conversation, emotional honesty, and connection. Im excited to see what conversations will be had over a cup of ‘Sippsi Good Tea and how it impacts us all one cup, once conversation at a time.
We’ll read in two-part cycles. The books may not directly connect, and that’s on purpose. Each pairing is meant to invite different responses and turn the conversation back to you — what you noticed, what stayed with you, and what it brought up.
You’re welcome to read one or both.
Our first reads:
On Sundays She Picked Flowers by Yah Yah Scholfield $22.50
Hood Wellness by Tamela B. Gordon $14.50
First meetup:
