If you've ever wanted to become a Range Safety Officer- this is your chance. Rev-Tac has been teaching thousands of students a year over the last 15 years. We have become the training body for other instructors, gun store staff, LE, MIL and security team leaders that want to advance their ability beyond the ol' outdated traditional certifications.
What we cover:
Modern firearm safety- and how to teach it to folks who don't "know" guns.
Range safety briefs, range commands and med planning.
Safety standards on and off the firing line.
Holster work by the numbers- recognizing gear and holster work that would be dangerous.
Correcting someone without getting punched in the face.
Fixing malfunctions safely- while using it as a teachable moment.
Target stand-off distances.
The fundamentals of marksmanship- recognizing when someone is going to need a bandaid if they shoot like that.
A bunch of other topics that arise during this awesome discussion and demonstration.
What to expect:
You'll spend a few hours in the classroom watching video of firearm accidents, discussing the above stuff, before practicing dry, then going out on the range live. We go through a ton of scenarios...then set you free on a live fire range to RSO for an actual class for observation and soft corrections. You won't leave here an expert. That takes practice and time gaining real-world experience...but you will leave here with a solid understanding of what "right and wrong" look like and the tools to correct it. One of the best ways to prevent accidents on a range is clear communication ahead of going live. This part of the training is vital...learning to make the complicated stuff simple enough to understand. This course is for people who are experienced and capable shooters. This isn't a basic course. IF you aren't sure if you should be here, please contact us ahead of time. Unlike other governing bodies, you can fail this course and not receive the certification from safety violations, personality problems or any other reason that would negatively effect the image of the gun community.

What to bring:
Handgun, quality holster, electronic ear protection, 50 rounds, eye protection, note taking material. Drinks and snacks.
What to wear:
Dress for the weather. Layers. We will be both inside and outside. DO NOT plan on wearing thick gloves to shoot in. Buy quality shooting gloves or just plan on keeping your hands warm between iterations. Call or text if you have questions about this.
What's required of you ahead of time:
You should already have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of safety and marksmanship. You should know how guns work. You should have taken formal firearm classes before. You will need to prove your proficiency with firearms, from rifles and shotguns to handguns.
