"description": "When looking for treatment, you can feel confident about the Northwell Health Sports Medicine Program. We offer a high level of care from experts who specifically treat athletes—including those from the New York Islanders, New York Jets, Long Island Ducks, New York Lizards, Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy, and multiple high schools across the metropolitan area.\r\nSports injuries tend to be serious because of the amount of force and energy exerted at the time of impact. Because athletes are used to feeling aches, pains and other discomforts, they often let their injuries go untreated for longer than they should. That's when long-term and chronic injuries develop, and that's why it’s important to seek treatment from a sports medicine expert as soon as something feels off. To schedule an appointment with one of our sports medicine experts, call (833) 9-SPORTS or visit www.northwell.edu/sports"
