ZOTFEST is a student-run, campus-wide, public competition and screening event started in 1999 by an organization called FADA: Film – Arts – Drama Alliance. ZOTFEST is one of the longest running, student-run film festival in the UC system.
The film festival will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this spring, continuing its legacy of uniting UCI students in the goal of encouraging a creative, expressionistic, and diverse experience. ZOTFEST encourages students from all backgrounds and departments to create films that showcase their unique voices, and it provides the opportunity for these films to be shared with members of the entire campus and members of the community. ZOTFEST 2019 will take place on June 3nd, 2019. After submissions have been reviewed by industry professionals and UCI faculty, the festival will showcase the selected student films to a filled auditorium in a four-hour program. Students will be awarded for their work, and a reception will follow. This event brings together students and faculty from across schools and departments, as well as community members.
