13th Annual Strides for Autism Walk
On August 24th, 2019, South Carolina Autism Society will be observing its 13th Annual Strides for Autism Walk.
The Strides for Autism Walk continues to remain our organization’s signature fundraising event where persons, families and community members impacted by an autism spectrum disorder get an opportunity to participate in a fun-filled walk, resource fair and family activities. Participants also get an opportunity to fellowship with family members and meet new friends, enjoy local vendors, and other entertainment. Once again, this year’s event will be held at the Irmo Community Park (7457 Eastview Drive, Irmo, SC 29063), which is the home of the historical Irmo Okra Strut Festival.
Our goal is to have over 2,000 walking participants or more to attend the Strides for Autism Walk. Registration will take place at 9:00 a.m., and the walk will start approximately at 10:00 a.m. The Strides for Autism Walk will conclude at 1:00 p.m.

Once again, our ultimate goal for this momentous occasion, is to raise money for our non-funded initiatives that will continue to touch lives of persons impacted by an autism spectrum disorder where it is needed the most. Those initiatives include, but are not limited to Quality of Life: providing financial assistance during seen and unforeseen situations, summer camp sponsorship’s especially during the grueling summer months, etc. Money raised will also go towards SCAS providing training for families, outreach services (autism awareness) at community and school events, etc.
