- **Event Description**: This course is for candidates who either work or wish to pursue a career as licenced taxi driver in the passenger transport sectorAbout this EventPLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAYS FOR THIS DATE TO MONDAY AND WEDNESDAYWe are pleased to be able to offer in partnership with East Suffolk Council the Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver.This course is for candidates who either work or wish to pursue a career as licenced taxi driver in the passenger transport sector.The course will be delivered over 2 full days on Monday 13 and Wednesday 15 April 2026 from 9.00am to 4.00pm each dayThe course will be held at West Suffolk College, Ipswich at the following address:Lofty Heights CIC517 London RoadIpswich, SuffolkIP2 0STThere are no formal entry requirements for this course but delegates will be required to have a good understanding of English.Upon successful completion of the course delegates will receive a certificate of achievement.Course content to include the following topics:Health and Safety in the taxi and private hire work environmentRoad safety when driving passengers in a taxi or private hire vehicleProfessional customer service in the taxi and private hire industryTaxi and private hire vehicle maintenance and safety inspectionsThe regulatory framework of the taxi and private hire industryTaxi and private hire services for passengers who require assistanceRoutes and fares in the taxi and private hire vehicle industriesTransporting of parcels, luggage and other items in the taxi and private hire industriesTransporting of children and young persons by taxi or private hire vehiclesDelegates will also undertake an multiple choice end assessment on completion of the training.Please remember when putting in ticket information for more than one ticket that the correct information of each individual person please.To book and pay by credit/debit card please click on the 'get tickets' button shown above.If you are an Employer and wish to pay via invoice please contact us to receive further instructions.If any of the courses you wish to attend are full or you cannot make the date, please let us know so that we can register your interest and let you know of future opportunities or add your name to a reserve list.
