First Round - March 2026

Please Note: First Round is taking place on a Monday rather than our usual Wednesday schedule

First Round, a Downtown District staple, is a monthly networking event that gives locals the opportunity to meet new people, socialize, and learn about what’s happening across Iowa City’s arts, business, and culture sectors. One of our favorite parts of First Round is introducing new businesses to the community, allowing attendees to hear their story firsthand.

Join us on Monday, March 16 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Claude, the Northside’s newest addition. Owners Adélaïde Subtil and Thomas Heineman will share the story and inspiration behind their French speakeasy concept.

This month, your first round is free thanks to Heather Bright, Realtor. Cheers!

Parking: We recommend parking in the surface lot between Bluebird Diner and George’s Buffet.
