Spring retreat dates are ready for sign-ups!
Packages range from $165 - $235 for the entire weekend including lodging, meals and a 6' table.
The retreat is held at Inspiration Hills, a summer camp near Inwood, Iowa. About 30 miles southeast of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The facility is a church camp during the summer but is open throughout the year. It has 2 levels, and has an elevator and luggage trolleys to get everything down in our work room.
We use their main room in the lower level with a fireplace, big screen TV, and lots of room to spread out in. For meals, we walk upstairs for a delicious brunch, or dinner prepared by their staff. It is surrounded by woods and lots of mornings, we can see deer. It is peaceful for a quite morning for coffee on the deck or they even have walking trails if the weather is nice enough.
They have some hotel-like rooms with 2 queens, 1 queen and a bunk bed, or 3 bunk beds per room and each room has their own private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. The price of these rooms vary depending on occupancy from 2-4 people.
Or if you want to save money, there is a camp-style dormitory with twin bunk beds (enough in the room for everyone to have a LOWER bunk). There is a communal bathroom with toilets, sinks and private shower area.
You will get a 6' table on your own with plenty of space to spread out. Some ladies bring their own smaller side table for diecutting, etc. I set up the room so everyone has access to electricity (I recommend taking along a power strip per group of friends) for lights, Cricut machines, etc. I run a pretty low-key retreat with few interruptions to your weekend. That's why I keep the prices low. Some people call it a "no frills" retreat. It's just a wonderful time spent having a relaxing time with friends. Old or new.
You can come Thursday evening, Friday morning, or Friday afternoon and your package price depends on which lodging you choose, how many nights you are there, and how many meals you are there. The most expensive package I have is Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon at 4pm with 2 people sharing a private room for $285 per person. This includes all meals from Friday lunch to Sunday lunch. My most inexpensive package is $160 per person for a bed in the dorm for arrival Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon and all meals included.
