Future Asset Inverness Roadshow
What is the Future Asset Inverness Roadshow?
A half-day workshop giving S4-S6 girls from a range of schools an introduction to investment: what it is, why it is more varied and interesting than you might think and how there are lots of attractive careers available - and they don’t all require a maths degree!
At the Roadshow, girls will work with investment professionals to assume the role of “Dragon” in the Dragons’ Den, choosing where to invest their clients’ money, and play our Investment Boardgame, managing a £100 million “Portfolio” including shares in Apple, Nike and Unilever. How will they react to Samsung’s phones catching fire, Rory McIlroy signing with Adidas, or reports of human rights abuses at Nasty Oil and Gas?
We have around 40 places at each event and we'd like to invite 4 to 5 girls per school to come along with a teacher or adviser if possible - we do understand how busy you are, but you might find it interesting too.
The girls do not need to be studying business or maths, though obviously they can be. They might be studying humanities and social sciences and wondering what a degree in this area might lead to. More than subject area, asset managers want people who:
Think about things and ask questions
Are interested in the world, how it works and how it could be better
Are prepared to argue for what they believe in
