Explore The Highlands – August 2026
Monday 24th- Thursday 27th
In August 2026 we are offering a small group break to discover Scotland. The Highlands are truly magical, filled with folklore and ancient religions, it is a doorway to another world. Towering mountains cloaked in mist, lochs as deep as legends, and ancient glens whispering tales older than time – the highlands of Scotland are wild and unspoilt. We will trace the footsteps of clans, saints, and spirits through the changing landscapes over our trip.
In Glen Affric, widely hailed as Scotland’s most beautiful glen, you’ll be immersed in an ancient Caledonian forest where pine trees stretch toward the heavens and stags roam free. It’s a place that feels untouched by time. We will explore the Black Isle, where rugged coastlines give way to tranquil villages, and dolphins dance just offshore and in Rosemarkie, you’ll find peace by the waves and wander among Pictish stones that tell stories in silence. And who could forget Loch Ness; wrapped in mystery and myth the villages that surround it are full of character, ruins and waterfalls.
The Highlands are so much more than just scenery – they are soaked in folklore and alive with myth. Here, every mountain has a guardian, every loch holds a secret, and every trail leads to a legend. Come and see why poets, painters, and pilgrims have long called this the most magical place on Earth. For four days, let Scotland wrap you in its ancient spell.

This route does not have any escape points so you must be carrying everything you need for a full day and be fully hydrated and have enough food. There are only wild toilets on this section. I will be showing you the walk but not in the remit of my walk leading qualification. This section will be classed as a walk with friends due to the remoteness of the area. By proceeding with this you are aware that this is a remote walk, with no access points other than the start and I will be there within the group not as an official leader. We will walk at a steady gentle pace but we will have to keep to the 6 hour mark, so please be comfortable with this pace.
