Duration

Around 36 hours of study spread over several months depending on the optional unit choices, delivered via blended learning. Additional time is required for assignments, projects etc. and home study. Study materials will be accessed online using the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Classes are held on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at 6 - 9pm, with face to face workshops in the College approximately every third week and one twilight session.


Assessment

Each unit is separately assessed using a variety of assessment methods. These include practical skills assessments, short presentations, written reports and briefing notes.


Aims

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Diploma in Human Resource Practice is an extension of the Certificate in Human Resource Practice. It will further develop your practical, relevant skills and the confidence and behaviour’s to be an effective HR practitioner.


Client Group

The Diploma is designed for HR professionals, including line managers, HR assistants and administrative staff who want to enhance their practical HR skills. It would also be appropriate for people who are moving into an HR role or for operational managers who are making the transfer into HR management.


Entry Requirements

Applicants will have completed the Certificate in Human Resource Practice prior to commencing the Diploma. It may be possible to complete the Certificate and Diplomas units at the same time however this must be discussed and agreed with the College tutor prior to registering for the course.


Award

On successful completion of the programme, candidates receive the CIPD Diploma in Human Resource Practice. The Diploma is at an equivalent level to SCQF 6.


Course Content

Candidates must gain 9 credits in addition to their Certificate in Human Resource Practise award. There are three separately certificated units. Mandatory unit, valued at 6 credits:

• Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward ( 3PRM)

Plus either of the following optional credit units:

• Identifying Learning and Development Needs (3LDN)

• Evaluating Learning and Development Activities (3ELD)
