This growth in the market is being encouraged through initiatives such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The RHI will pay a pre-determined price for every kWh heat generated by ground or water source heat pumps. Air source heat pumps are expected to be included in the RHI scheme at a later date. Smaller heat pump systems will have to be fitted by MCS accredited installers to be eligible for these funds. Heat pumps are widely used in Scandinavia and other European countries and can offer a reliable and effective heating solution in many applications.Client GroupCandidates wishing to receive a BPEC Biomass Heating Systems installer certificate must either have :* A SVQ level 3 in plumbing or heating engineering, or* Several years’ experience in the plumbing/heating engineering trade with Proof of Competence (CAT 2 form),AND* A valid Unvented Hot Water certificate.Course ContentThe programme covers all the information needed to choose, install and maintain air and ground source heat pump systems including:* Background and market demand* How heat pumps work – principles and components* Heat pump installation* Commissioning* Maintenance and fault finding* Health and SafetyIMPORTANT INFORMATIONTo ensure Bpec Certification complies with its Awarding Body Agreement, centres must verify the likeness of candidates who are undertaking assessments.
